Knock, knock.
Who’s there?
It’s a new year.
No, it’s not possible!
How did 2022 slip through my fingers? It seems like just yesterday that it was 2021.
Allow me to pull back the curtain on last year. I took on two new leadership roles with NANP; shared extended time with friends and family; maintained an exercise routine; passed the CDSP exam (I’ll explain how this benefits you in an upcoming post); helped complete a rental property renovation; and enjoyed some amazing travel.
But I also experienced Hurricane Ian; lost a dear mentor way too early in her life; pulled away from some awesomely supportive colleagues; spent too much time alone; and stopped sharing my passion for creating a nourishing life with you, my dear reader.
With this mix of highs and lows, it’s no surprise that I sometimes felt emotionally and physically drained.
Can you relate?
2022 reminded me that life happens. Whether immersed in the fun stuff or navigating the challenges, it’s essential to pause (not stop), breathe deeply, savor the messiness, eat intentionally, and reflect on the important things in life.
I’m starting 2023 with renewed energy, and I hope you are, too. As we navigate this new year together, I’m committed to sharing a variety of refreshing ways to help you nourish yourself throughout the year.
Since nourishment is about more than the foods we eat (although nourishing with food is my jam), check out this FREE resource for when your body and mind need a pause.
Meditation Minis are short, FREE audio recordings designed to help you relax and feel better fast. There are over 100 meditations, most between only seven and 10 minutes in length. My favorite is the 5 Minute Meditation [Guided Breathing + Mantra], which I regularly practice while walking, sitting at my desk, before a challenging conversation, or as I’m getting ready for bed.
Even if you resist a dedicated meditation practice, I invite you to sink into the soothing guidance of Chel Hamilton as you create space for yourself and nourish your mind.
In addition to trying one of these mini-meditations, I invite you to share this post with a friend and encourage them to pick up a copy of my free Stress-Less Foods eBook at my website. If you don’t yet have a copy, pick one up for yourself, too.
I’m eager to hear which Meditation Mini you explored and how you felt before, during, and after the experience. Share your thoughts with me when the time is right.
In the meantime, keep nourishing yourself. The world needs you!
